~ Elephant Sanctuary, Lanchang ~

My mom told me i would drive her and my dad nuts with watching Disney's DUMBO cartoon. They had a VCR copy of it and i would play it again and again and again and again.. hehehe ... And , after watching it sooo many times i even know every single line... Well, I USED too.. lolz...

 But it is one of my most favourite Disney Original movies..!!=)..My mom would tell me stories of how i keep telling,wishing and begging her to have a pet elephant.. hahaha .. lolz.. It didnt came true if that whats ur thinking.. hahaha ... but i got the next best thing...=)
Well, my parents and i enjoyed having some quality family time once in a while and if possible we dont wanna have to spend much to enjoy bonding time..... Not in a cheapskate way, more in a smart spending way..=) And so, my dad found this elephant adoption sanctuary. Where they keep, breed, adopt and save endangered elephant or wild elephants which they caught in the construction and extensions of our modern living. 


We started our day pretty early, as we were all pretty hype about our family adventure. We stopped at the tanah rata R&R which is the same one that people commonly stop to go up to Genting Highland. We had brunch there and continue our way to lanchang, Pahang. But before we departed the R&R my brother and i . well ok.."I' admit that "I" wanted to take a picture with the military truck.=).. Jakun (dumbstruck) i know...=).Even the military guy was kinda snickering at me.. But i didnt care.. it was kinda cool..=).. *blush*


So we continued driving about an hour plus from the R&R and it was an interesting drive. I have always been a "City Girl".. I sometimes hate to admit it, cause i dont wanna sound superficial.. =)..but i am, and so when i saw the livestock animals in the rural part of the city we were in. I was super excited at the same time kinda sound dumbstrucked by everything. haha . I love chicken, meat and lamb. But seeing them live and real.. kinda *hehe* bring out the giddy kiddy in me..Lolz..

After about a total of 2 hours driving from my house, we finally reached the sanctuary and boy it was inspiring for me to learn that they do not charge any admission fee's. They survive on the generosity of the visitors, you may contribute or donate any amount that u wish to give sincerely . I mean it doesnt get any more admirable then that. Rather that places who charge heart-dropping rate for the same experience..


Well,even for the cheapo ppl...Pls donate..!! I advise all who does visit this place donate something even a small donation of rm10 perperson or about rm50 for a group of people would help tremendously .My parents made a donation of rm100 in the name of our family. And it made us feel good to help for such an admirable cause...=).. I mean look at the happy elephant , you know u 've helped such a wonderful cause..!!

We kinda came a bit too early for the feeding time. So funnily enough, we bought banana's and peanut packets from home to feed the elephants so that we didnt have to buy  there. Bringing from home is muchhh cheaper ..=).. But while waiting we kinda finish a packet and some of the banana's .. lolz.. bad i know,we felt guilty afterwards..hahaha 


However, we found out later that we didnt have to bring food from home as they prepare and brought out stocks and piles of fruits for us to feed the elephants...=)... i had the most fun feeding them.. They r the most gentle animals.. heheh .. They brought out about 4-5 adult elephants and 3 baby elephants.. hehehe .. and the babies are sooo adorable... Making me, give my mom that pleading look.. and she laughed and retold the story of dumbo.... Um.. awesome family memories.. hehehe 


The whole family bought extra clothes to join the "Take a bath with the elephants".. hahaa.. Wanna know something kinda disgusting...?? really...?? you sure..?? ok.ok.. hahah .. well, since I thought we were gonna be bathing with the elephants.. I kinda skip my morning bath that day... lolz.But sadly, that day the activity was cancelled because the water level was too high and they didnt wanna risk any injuries or accidents.Since it was cancelled. I went to the public toilets they have there and took a shower either ways.. hahaha .. pathetic i know,.. lolz..

Before we left the sanctuary, we lined up to get a chance to ride the elephant. I would torture him i know, since i could weight as much as the baby elephant... but... but.... but... oh shut up..!!=)... hahaha .. I JUST WANNA !!.. And it was an awesome and fun experience...!!=)... and i would do it again .. and again.. and AGAIN!!.. hehehe.. This is defintely an awesome place for photo opp, family adventure, gathering of friends or just a outing for no reason..!!!

For those of you who have been reading my blog, would know my whole family ♥ Cats!! hehehe, and well, we recently added a new kitty to our family...=).... And boy is he awesome. If u noticed majority of my cats r all male's. We have nothing against gender of the cats ..lolz...Its actually a coincident but we love them regardless.=).

Lolz, truthfully i dont know ... how many times in average does a cat be pregnant?? Cause with the way my fiancé's cat is producing litters she could be open her own business and make good money for it too. hehehe, she has been producing awesomely cute kittens. Guess she knows how to pick em'! JIJI@GIGI@JieJie, i prefer to use GG is a black Persian cat...=)... Blacky grey fur with black mischievous and devious eyes...=)... But she is soo lovable, hugable and just plain sexy that male cats cant keep their paws of Her ...=).

Well, She must have been working time and sneaking out sooo much that she has produced 3 litters of kittens for the past 1 year plus. Lolz, Arent we proud of our cats... lolz...*joking*... Anyways, as much u wann be mad, she has produced sooo many kittens and all are awesome cute , smart and just lovable. And the 1st and 2nd batch have successfully found loving home..=)

The third batch arrived about 1 month ago... hehhe and oooo, they r just sooo cute...!!! hehehe... And since simba left us... My mom had a hard time even thinking of taking in a new cat... but however... after taking a look of the adorable batch... Her heart starts to open up and so we adopted a new family member.. Thinking at first that it was a female, turns out to be a male.. Lolz.. aint that funny... Anyway's, my mom was contemplating between Sinbad and Sushi. If u can see...

After getting Smokey... all out cats names suddenly started with an "S". ... At last we decided no names him SAMSON...!! hehehe .... dunno how the name came to be.. but its sassy, its tough and a warrior name suitable with his fun spirit, tough and taking no shit from the other 3 adult cats in the house.. Samson my heart.!!!=)

Next came Simba. Simba was given to me by my boyfriend. My god the day simba came to my house, he wasn't scared or timid, he was just a jumping ,joyous orange blob of fur. hehee .. he wouldn't stay still...=).. but we love him either way. He stole our hearts..hehehe . He was one

 of the smartest and most loving cats that we have ever had. But soon after ,we took in about 2 more cats, he didnt like sharing the spotlight and love, so he adopted another family who lives about 5-8 mins walk from our house. Happy to say that he does come back to visit once a week or a few times a month..weird.. but so true..!!my mom miss him terribly though..

Then came sha-sha... haha ... my parents found her while taking a walk in subang ss19 area, She was all alone kat tepi jalan near a curb. Since she's a dark blacky brown colour and kinda a chubby baby, whoever that didnt notice her would just assume that she was a rock or something like that . haha, she was such a bundle of fur and has a pair of strong lungs that when she meowed, that she could be louder than the tv. lolz. 

Anyways, she is still loved by everyone although she is the most feisty, and emo cat that we have ever owned. She dislikes to be held, kissed or pat unless she wants it and allows it...

We kinda nicknamed her Tai Ka Chey.. ( sorry for the mispronounced chinese, which kinda means, lady boss.. hahaha ).. And when she was younger, she had this fetish of sleeping on my hair.. hahaha ... everytime i wake up in the morning she will be sleeping on my hair. But now she wouldn't even let us hug or kiss her anymore. What happen to those times.??.. i missed it sooo much...!!

About 1 month after sha-sha came , my aunt found this tiny yellow/orange cat abandoned by the mother. The mother refuse to feed or clean or plain take care of the kitten. My aunt told me to help take care of him for a few days until she could find a family to take care of it. We werent looking to have another kitten, as we had 3 four-legged babies at home already. But he looked sooo lost and hungry and just plain loving that we didnt have the heart to put him out in to the streets.... As u may have guessed , we took him in and named him sylvester. he is my baby and i absolutely adore him. ... ♥♥♥♥  Him!!!

CHOMEL ,MAMA & SMOKEY

I have always been a cat person , i guess u could say since i was born . Even back then my babysitter was my cat named Dot-dot.. Was named because of the black dot's all over her white body... hehehe .. She will babysit me

while im sleeping , my parents would normally get their chores done between/during this time..lolz..=). Whenever i start to cry or basically wake up, i was told she would make sure to go get one of the adult. She will meow loud and for as long as she could until someone goes to check up on me..=).. Isnt she an awesome babysitter !!=) . Um.. i would have to dig and scan pictures of her.. huhhu.. i suddenly realize i dont have any picture of her in my hard drive.. huhuhu...

Hehehe as years progress, we have had a few other cats in and out of the house, some i dont have any pictures as back then some was either stolen before any pictures could be taken and some just pass away not long after we took then in. I would like to highlight that all my cats are adopted, most of them r strays, or we got them from ppl who are just incapable to take care of them and some was given to us by loved ones..=)..

CHOMEL

My ULTIMATE baby was my Chomel. The story of how we found him was ,during one of the rainy and stormy days about 2002, my brother came home drenched and clutching a very dirty, wet and scared kitten bundled up in my brothers t-shirt. I quickly gave it a warm bath and we even blow-dried him as it was too cold outside, he was feisty but he stole my heart. For a few days he would not allow us to get too near him, unless he approached us himself. But i could say i was one of the first Chomel warm up to.. he would sleep with me, and would come whenever i called him. One problem with him was, he liked to poo and pee inside the house, until my parents had enough.

They took him and drove around my house block about 4 times and left him somewhere near the bungalows . When i found out, i was devastated. I was heartbroken for a few days,..Suddenly one night i heard his unique whine and meow , I was soo happy....that after about 2 days roaming around, he found his way back home..!! Needless to say, after that he never poo'd or pee'd inside the house...EVER...=)

At about the same time, we had a stray just adopted our house to stay. We named her Smokey...=)..Sassy right ?? She is as ladylike and girlie girl but a tough one..=)... She likes to be dainty and all. But she can easily capture cockroach,lizards and many other night crawlers..=). She was untimately my brothers cat. She was easily found
sleeping and lazing around in my brother's room. Unfortunately, she was either stolen by someone or we kinda suspected one of our neighbours threw her away, as she kinda adopted the next door neighbours house as well... Anyway's, we'll never found out. And my brother still kinda miss her and talk about her at times. *sigh* *sad*

DANI & SALEM

SALEM ON ME...=)

Soon after Salem was given to us by my grandma, salem's mother was a stray who gave birth at my grandma's house but she wasnt taking care of her kittens, so my grandma's driver caught the kitten and grandma bunddled him in a kain buruk and put in a plastic bag.... *horror right *..?? The moment she arrive my house and handed me the plastic and told me. "..Nah ambik kucing ni, menyemak jer kat rumah aku..."! which is loosely translates to"Take this cat, i want it out of my house". Well, we all fell in love with him ... He is now my MAMA's baby. No one messes with him or my mom will literally be angry or scold us. Hahaha...He is a Big Ass Mama's Boy!!
