I have tried steamboat and i have tried BBQ steamboat. However, Amly has tried this place a few times but this is the first time for me, hubs and my bestie Melissa tried Sukiyaki. Apparently Suki-ya is a combination of specialized shops in Japan, that serves hot pot, shabu-shabu and sukiyaki which are all actually pretty similar to each other .
"At Suki-Ya, we offer 4 choices of popular soup bases to further entice the diner's pallete with the FREE FLOW of freshly sliced meat. Fans of sukiyaki will certainly love our paper thin sliced beef. To complement the rich selection of meat, our healthy vegetable bar is always stocked with fresh greens and premium pasteurised eggs. We have specially made dipping sauce available or you can always create your own favourite sauce. We also have an a-la carte menu with choices ranging from tofu to the ever popular salmon sashimi."

From what i understand Shabu-shabu is when thinly sliced meat are swirled around in the hot chosen borth and within a few seconds it will be cooked. The additional part of this Sukiyaki is that the moment the meat is cooked its also dipped in a small bowl of beaten raw egg. The moment i heard this , i thought how icky and weird it'll be . But when i saw how my Bestie Amly and Hubs devour the meat i decided to give it a try . Safe to say it does taste awesome!!!
Btw these are apparently steps on how to enjoy these delicious meal!!
Step 1: Fill 1/2 of the pot with a stock of your choice ( There was 4 types although i cant
remember what is it.=)). But they would recommed their Suki-Ya stock.
Step 2: Add leek and Onion or other vegetables, tofu or even the variety of seafood balls
that they have at the display buffet table .
Step 3: Dip sliced meat into Sukiyaki stock. Once its cook, which takes about 10-15 seconds
you should dip it in Raw egg and begin to enjoy it . Dipping ingredients into the raw
eggs also take away some heat before you sink a bite into it.
Step 4: Lastly, add udon or rice to remaining stock and enjoy the remaining rich flavour
of the stock.
These steps are showed on all their placemats at the restaurant. |
Shoyu and Sukiyaki stock. |
Anyways, both of the two teams (Amly and melissa / Tito and me) had the same stock Shoyu and Sukiyaki stock. Since we were there for the meat since its ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT, we all ordered about 5 servings of Beef and lamb, since Melissa wants chicken we order some of those too. Lolz, 5 serving each too much ?? May i remind you that its slinced into paper thins. So that it'll literally cooked in 10-15 seconds..=)...
We literally spent 2-3 hours there enjoying the delectable meats . The moment they're cook an dipped in the raw eggs they are sooo soft, creamy and oh so dreamy~~.. hahaha ... lolz... It was nice spending some time together and catching up on things since Christmas was a few days later and the New Years ... It was just awesome..!! I am oh so thankful for awesome friends like these . We have known each other since form 1?? lolz. About 13 years ?? how awesome is that !! hahaha .. Anyways, hope we make a lot of new, awesome and unforgettable memories this year !!
Luv you guys ..!!!! Muahss..!! |
Till next time and more meetups ..!!
Cheers ..!!
