An Angry bird Birthday..!!

Recently, my hubby called me one evening and asked if i wanted to go to one of his Maxis friend's (Kak Aya) daughter birthday party. Since, my hubby have met quite a few of my friends, I was happy that he wanted to go and bring me along. Funny enough hubby wasn't sure how old the child was, so to play safe we end up buying some chocolates for the child. What child doesn't like chocolate..?? *grinning*

Taking a picture with the gift / Hubs and me with the Angry bird cake and

The function was suppose to start at 8.30pm, but since hubs  finished work at 6pm and reached LRT Kelana Jaya at about 6.40pm, we decided to proceed straight away to the function. Another factor was because, we didn't know where the place was.. Hehehe, so after picking up Apiz from Maxis Sunway (where he parked his motorcycle , since he drove from KLCC after work) we proceed to look for the place. GPS and maps app from the Iphone was pretty useless, it kinda made us lost (for 30mins) after calling Kak Aya and getting the proper directions we finally arrived to her home.

Rather than waiting in the car, we came down and Kak Aya and relatives were frantically getting things ready. So we asked.. Well "I" asked if she needed any help. hehehe.... But besides us getting there early, she had everything under control..=)

Hubby and Apiz posing for some pictures...=)

We thought we were gonna wait till everyone arrived before we dig into the delectable foods, but funny enough one of the BBQ guy actually came to me and passed me one juicy HUGE piece of Lamb chop... Ooooo, hahaha at that moment the family members were all getting some food before the big function started and we were invited to join as well.. and.. well.... we did... Yummy!!!! They had loads of boxes filed with marinated chicken, lamb, fish, beef and even some kerang (cockles) .

All these boxes were filled with marinated seafood and meat.. =)

These were some of the yummilicious food that was prepared for the guest, everything was catered but it was truly delicious and even if it looks like but it was more then enough and delicious..!!
Food that was served,
*Nasi Goreng Kampung
*Nasi Goreng Cina
*Laksa Asam
*Pulut Kuning
*Begedil
*Grilled seafood and meat,
*Air Bandung (This drink truly tasted funny..um...)
*Air Sirap Selasih
*Teh Tarik

Lolz, not long after that guests started arriving and pretty soon the whole tent and house was filled with kids running around and adults enjoying some adult time too...=). Its been years since i last went to a party that has all the party hats, face masks, the paper trumpets and mini party pop-er's.  When the guest had filled the tents, Kak Aya asked me to help arrange the cake... And i was excited as i will be arranging the cakes, since "The birthday girl" was 3 years old Kak Aya has three specially made for the b-day girl.

She has to be one of the youngest Angry Birds fan, so much so that the specially design cakes was all 3 types of the animated birds.. Blue, Red and Yellow bird. Looking at how excited the bday girl was i opened the blue birds box, tells me that she loved blue colour or just how angry the bird character was.. hehehe.Of course hubby and me has to quickly took the opportunity to take some pictures with the 3 Phenomenal Cakes .

Hubby and me with the 3 ANGRY BIRDS..=).. lolz..

All in all we stayed till about 1030pm, hehehe with a full tummy and happy with the delectable cakes . We said our goodbye, half way thru when we were there were also some of my husbands colleagues were there too, We mingle around for a bit and made our move.. Since hubby had an early day the next day, we made our way home and had a good night sleep..

I truly enjoyed meeting my hubby's friends,
And i hope to get to meet his other friends too..
Till next time ... Toodles ~!!

La Gomera.. Spanish delight.

I think i have said countless times how I am a online voucher promo addict... lolz... Well, one of the most recent one was a Spanish restaurant that situated in Neo Damansara. My aunt is one of the many factors why i love food. She has broaden my view on food ever since I was a little girl, she will always introduced and letting me try new food and bringing me places for good food. Be it healthy, vegetarian, Italian, Japanese, Mexican,Spanish and many other sorts of food. And starting from that i am always adventurously trying new places that I find interesting.

Hubby and me ,taking some photo opp moments outside of the restaurant.

Since, me and hubby were early cause the traffic was quite clear for the day , we thought we'll checkout the nearby shops. I cant help but notice there were a few Arab cuisine shops.. Which i cant wait to try...=).. (more food reviews and blogs coming up.. stay tune).  Since there were much interesting shops besides restaurants and bars, we decided that we'll sit down and grab something to drink first.

At first glance, it looks nothing like a Spanish restaurant. But walking in, you can clearly see the Spanish flags that were hanged all around the restaurant. With some of Spanish decorate things around, it looks decent enough. Since i wasn't allowed to take pictures *i asked*.. All i could do is just write what i saw..=).  Anyway, i knew about this restaurant when i bought a groupon voucher for a meal for 4. The voucher was for 4 people which includes 4 Paella, 8 Tapas and 4 Ice lemon tea. The normal price for this meal for 4(four) people was RM247.72, wanna know the most amazing thing ?? I bought the voucher for rm76..=)

Soon, Raneal and Priya arrived and we made the order within the choices that they gave. Since Priya is a vegetarian, and majority of the choices given were not, she had to order an A la Carte Vegetarian Pasta. While we waited for Para to arrive, Tito and Raneal started to talk about football and dude talk and me&priya catching up on things...(its been a while since i last met her ). About 10mins later Para arrived, and literally 2-3 mins later food started being served. Look what we ordered....=)

This was the only thing besides the pasta that we ordered a la carte..
Plain cheese and Garlic pizza..
This was a bit of a disappointment, it was just too thin.. =(
Mejillones Vinagreta
Steamed mussels dressed with flavourful vinaigrette
( 1 portion)
It was sent to out table and we didn't order it..
Even after i asked if they wrongly sent it .No one came back for it..
So we enjoyed it.. Well, i truly enjoyed it very much..!!=)
Pincho De Temera
Marinated beef skewer with sweet tomato and onion
( This was 1 portions )
This was ok2 la... nothing to shout about..!! But edible..
Berenjenaa Con Romero
Baked eggplant with olive and dried chili.
( 2 portion )
I kinda liked this.. delicious, but if only they could've served with some bright green
lettuce or some other pop of colour vegetable to make this look more appetizing.
But it did taste awesome.. so yeah..!!=)
Cordero Chilidro
Spanish lamb Stew
( 1 Portion )
I love lamb, the taste was awesome.. but knowing that this was taken
from the buffet line and with
no sort of garnishing was a little unappetizing...
Cangrejo Tigre
Fried minced Crab
( 2 Portion )
OOOO..... this is soooo deliciously awesome..!!!!!!
If i was alone, i would've ordered more of this ..!!! Yummeh..!!
Alas De Pollo Adeje
Baked chicken with homemade sauce
( 1 Portion )
The chicken wings were just ok2 la , like any other fried chicken..
Gambas al Ajillo
Prawn with garlic and dried chili
( 1 portion)
This was awesome... it was cooked just nice, not undercooked or overcooked
and was seasoned just right!! =)
Signature seafood Paella( 2 portion )
The flavour was exquisite.. You know that this was cooked with fresh seafood..
And there were enough seafood for all four of us to enjoy..
Signature Chicken Paella( 2 portion )
This was also amazing... chicken cooked just right and the flavours were
AMAZING... We didnt left even a drop of rice.. lolz..
Hubby with the chicken paella
You can see how big the paella was...
By the way, we took two portions of the paella each.
THE BIGGEST TURN OFF
The biggest turn off was when the chicken that i got was literally bloody raw...
I left it, just like that.... *gag*

To sum up the whole evening, everything was delicious and for the amount that i paid for the dinner of four was awesome..!! Truthfully i was afraid that  it wouldn't be enough, but luckily the portions at this restaurant is quite fulfilling... So it was just enough for everyone..!!=). Would i return?? Well, if i ever have any other online promo/voucher then maybe... To buy it at normal prices, truthfully no...

But today was awesome... What more can i ask for ...
Good food.. Good company... =)
Yippee me.. Till next time... Toodles~!

TEASE me ...

I think I am a online voucher/promo freak...hahaha, ever since I found out that we can purchase using credit/debit atm card without a maybank2u account.... Ka-ching!! hahaha ...

Since I could purchase these promotion, I have been going around and buying up SPA and food vouchers. I am self pro-claimed foodie, and for me to eat at certain places would be non-existing as i wont spend soo much for a meal when i could get it elsewhere for a fraction of the price and still delicious..!!=).

My hubby Loves.. loves.. loves... meat and a good piece of steak would satisfy him pretty well. So when this promotion for a Steak, Mixed grill and seafood platter came up ... I just had to try it and also it was nearby where i was staying .

These were what the choices the voucher (rm22) gave me ,

I actually bought about 8 vouchers, thinking  of bringing my family for dinner. However, this place is a Pork Free place and they do serve alcohol. I know how hard it is to obtain a Halal certificate when a place sells alcohol. Anyway, since my dad was adamant of not going to a place that does not have a Halal cert so i decided to go on a date with hubby, gave 2 vouchers to my brother and the other vouchers i went out with 2 other friends.

The food was delicious for the 2 times that i went. However, the first time we ordered the steak it was HUGE!!!! It almost filled the whole plate, but when we came back the second time with my friends, the steak wasn't as juicy or as big as the first time we had it.  For the second time that i was there, i wasn't in the mood to take pictures, so sorry guys i only have the pictures from my first visit to the restaurant...=)

The onion rings were crispy and delicious, but it looked like it was bought then it was in house battered. um, it would've been awesome if it has in-house kitchen made..=(
This was the mixed grill that i ordered, it was a huge  helping and it was awesome!!!!
This was taken from the Tease website but it looked and portion wise was the same when i went there the second time..
Hubby with his HUGE (1st visit) Porters Steak. The pictures is blurry , but look how happy he was when the steak was placed in front of him..!!
All in all i am quite satisfied with the food here, although i hope they would keep the portions standard for every meal and every time someone ordered a meal. And the second time i came i noticed almost 3/5 appetizers that i tried to order are out of stock and even some of the meats for the mixed grill were also out of stock... lolz.. But other than that it was ok.

Lastly, the 2 times that i was there. I notice they had a live band playing , but it was rather annoying that they  "strummed" and sound checked almost the whole time we were there and even after our meal (about 1hour 20mins) later, they have still yet to play and performed. Annoying much ??

Wanna give this place a try??

S'mores another way...

I'm not sure if all of you know what s'mores are. Well let me refresh your memory, you know when you watched camp-fires scenes in movies and they are all roasting marshmallows in the fire. And they stick the hot, gooey and dark marshmallow between two Graham crackers and a stick of chocolate...
And tadaa~.. S"MORES!!!!

When i said another way was actually a short cut on how to make these yummilicious treats,...=)
What you need is ...=)

2) Large Marshmallows
1) Digestive biscuits (Plain/chocolate)

Normally , people will have small bars of chocolate that would be placed between two Graham crackers and the hot gooey marshmallows, but the extreme short cut way that would've be easier was with buying a milk chocolate coated digestive biscuits and placing 2 large marshmallows on each of the chocolate side of the digestive biscuits and placing it in a oven or microwave for a few minutes.
* Microwave ( 1-2mins on high )
* Oven/convention oven ( 5-7mins at Celsius )

When you take the tray or plate out of the oven , you will realize that the marshmallow still looks "hard".. Do not be fooled as if you press on the mallows, they will ooze sizzling HOT gooey mallow. As long if its press-able , its done and ready for the second digestive biscuit to be placed on top of the mallow and pressed till all the gooey mallow overflow the biscuit. If you are a chocoholic and you need more chocolate, please don't hesitate to cut up some chocolate bars and stick it underneath the mallows before you heat it up.

These we the ones my brother made for the family, with the chocolate
side in.... And it was fantastically awesomely....Just enough chocolate for me ..=)
 GOOEY-LICIOUS!!!

Isn't it easy ...?? Give it a try... Im telling you it is soooo worth it...
Go on , get the two simple ingredients that you need , and enjoy the awesome sense of sweet chocolate pufy clouds or heaven in your mouth... hehehe ,...
Till, next time..
Toodles..~~!!
