However, recently i was given a chance to give the stimulator a go.. And boy was it interesting..=). Before trying it out i thought it was more or less something like a game console thingy. Well, it aint that easy , but it was fun, interesting and somehow i really believe i had hundreds of lives in my hand. hahaha ...=)... I know it sound funny but it i suddenly felt tense and nervous.. Lolz.
When i first arrive i was approached by the Flight Instructor Mr.Aiman. He then proceed to explain to me the terms they use for the props and lever of everything that im supposed to know and will be using in my first timers course..=) . It was a bit of a mouth full but easy enough.=)
These are just some of the terms and functions =) :
a) Throttle : The term they use when they power up the engine.
b) Rudder Paddle (feet paddle) : It will ONLY be use after landing the plane and to steer the plane towards the terminal and to break and stop the plane.
c) Yoke : Its the term they use for the stering handle . The YOKE is use to control the plane during flight. To move it upwards, downwards, right or left.
There was quite a bit more of panels but i cant remember their names.. hahah ... anyways, i had fun trying out the stimulator and i would recommend people to give it a try... it aint as easy as it looks.. hahaha ...I was flying the stimulator aircraft that resembles an ATR 72-500 aircraft. The first time i "land' the plane was supposedly at Subang airport, however i think any passenger on that plane would have died haha .. as i almost crashed into the main terminal.. hahahaha ..The panels are so sensitive that even a small jerking movements will swerve the plane... *scary*
The second time i landed was at Penang International airport, this one was a bit more better... However, i think passengers would have gotten a heart-attacked as i almost crash (but recovered in time).. but was swerving on the lanes to stop the plane.. haha ... heartattack and headache.. haha ... Two very deadly combination hahaha ...
The third times a charm.. They would only give u three tries to land the plane.. hahaa ... The third time i landed again at our very own Subang Airport. This time i landed safely, properly... however, i did stop the plane out of the tracks.. But it was kinda was a smoothly landing.. haha .. so i guess the third time all MY passengers will be shaken by the experience but alive and living.. hahah ..
Anyways, I've given it a try.. How about u ?? Come on down to Empire Shopping Gallery and head straight to the second floor and give the LEX FIREFLY FLIGHT STIMULATOR a go..!!
a) 15 minutes for Rm30 ( for ppl who just wants to try it for fun.. just doing the landing stimulator )
b) Beginners (Rm150) = 90 minutes x 3Sessions (Familiarisation+ Climb and Descent +Medium and Steep Turns+ Flight test) Will be trained using single-engine CESSNA 172.
c) Intermediate (Rm300) = 90 minutes x 5Sessions (Climbing and Descending Turns + Normal Circuit checks and intructs+ Circuit test ) Will be trained using single-engine CESSNA 172.
d) Advance (Rm 500) = 90 minutes x 4Sessions ( Revision of the basic and intermediate classes +Asymmetric for ground, air, and go around+Crosswind take off and landings+VOR/DME/ILS) Will be trained using twin-engone BEECHCRAFT 58)
So, come and give the stimulator a try.... hehehe... If u like it ok... If u dont at least u can say u have tried it . But for me.. it was an interesting experience..=).. Till next time..
